Main Position Objectives:
Reporting to the Front of House Manager this role is to assist in the day to day operations and service in the restaurant and weddings and other events as required.
The key goal is to ensure a smooth operation on a day to day basis, with effective problem solving skills when needed to overcome difficult circumstances with customers, staff and general daily business challenges.
To help manage the booking system with the goal of a seamless turnover of tables to maximize revenue whilst still delivering a friendly professional ‘can do’ manner at all times.
To assist in managing staff on duty including monitoring and regulating staff performance and advising direct manager of any concerns or issues when necessary.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
Operational:
To liaise with the Chefs when required to ensure the highest levels of cooperation and teamwork with front of house and back of house staff for all day operations.
To assist in training and maintaining exceptional food and wine knowledge, Estate brand and history in order to be able to answer any customer questions regarding the business.
To ensure all restaurant enquiries including phone calls, emails and ongoing communication with customers are responded to in a timely manner as required.
To assist and maintain a team of well-presented, enthusiastic and friendly staff and to ensure that the restaurant is adequately staffed at all times whilst on duty.
To ensure that all staff wear the mandated uniform and are presented at the highest level at all times. Lead by example by having exceptionally high grooming standards.
To constantly monitor both busy and quiet trading periods in order to coordinate staff rosters and ensure labor costs are kept within budget.
To maintain a strict and secure system for daily cash reconciliation and cash collections from the safes when required as per instructed by Front Of House Manager.
To ensure the restaurant is always maintained in an impeccably clean and tidy manner and that all equipment is in good working order and reported if action required.
To act in a timely manner when requested to complete a task.
To maintain the standards of Occupational Health and Safety required by CYV at all times.
To monitor and report all positive and negative customer feedback.
To foster open, honest and effective lines of communication with all departments of the company.
To assist in other departments of CYV as required.
To at all times respect the trust and confidentiality of the position.

Essential: Previous Industry experience in a similar role.
This role will require a naturally energetic and flexible individual who is accustomed to working in a fast paced environment, and has proven capacity to work well under pressure, in a solo and team setting. It will also require the capacity to deal effectively with multiple tasks and competing demands.
Customer service and interaction is paramount, administrative tasks are required to be completed efficiently and effectively. The role involves physical activity, hands-on involvement and may involve lifting and the ability to sustain a physically active role is important.
